I forgot to add, I have owned an hp years and years ago, huge camera, canon sis, kodak mp cant remember model, then went to compacts which I like, kodak v by far my favorite camera, but lcd is tore up I loved it because it was the perfect size, kept it in my jean pockets, had wide angle, and optical zoom on video.

Do you depress the shutter halfway to get a focus luck before fully depressing? That will minimize a lot of the shutter lag that happens when you do the full press at one time before the camera focuses and calculates exposure.
